Panasonic introduces worlds’ thinnest speaker
Missed this one last week – Panasonic claims to have made the world’s thinnest speaker measuring a mere 1.5 mm thick. The new speaker is called the Panasonic Electronic Device (or PED) and it reduces their previous smallest speaker by 40 percent (down from a previous thickness of 2.5 mm). Panasonic claims that despite the thinnes of the speaker, there is no reduction in sound quality. You can expect to find these speakers in mobile phones and small portable devices. Panasonic will begin manufacturing these tiny speakers in May of 2007.
