Gizmodo has posted their first look at the new Dell XPS M1710 laptop with a built in Blu-ray drive. The system they played with was priced in at $4249 and came with the following specs:

  • Intel Core 2 Duo T7600 processor running at 2.33GHz
  • 2GB RAM
  • 100GB HDD
  • Windows Media Center
  • 17 inch wideaspect UltraSharp TFT Active Matrix WUXGA display with a 1920 x 1200 resolution
  • 512MB NVIDIA GeForce go 7950 GTX graphics card
  • Measures 15.51″ x 1.69″ x 11.30″ and weighs 8.71 lbs

So yes.. that’s nice and dandy but the real kicker is the Blu-ray drive that comes with the system.. and can you imagine watching a Blu-ray movie on a 1920 x 1200 screen? *drool*. So here’s what they of the machine thus far:

With a $3,699 starting price (that includes a Blu-ray drive), this XPS delivers far more features for the price than you can find in any other HD notebook.

I just wish I had $4249 to buy a laptop like that.
