Sony GPS Receiver for Sony PSP
Turn your Sony PlayStation Portable gaming device into a portable GPS device with new Sony GPS Receiver for the PSP. Currently available in Japan, the new Sony GPS Receiver fits on top of the PSP expansion slot and is secured via a single thumbscrew on the left hand side.
With the GPS receiver in place, you’ll be able to perform basic actions normally reserved for portable GPS devices such as planning out car routes, walking routes, and looking up stores in the shop directories – although this is Japan specific at this point. The GPS functionality only goes so far – especially since the PSP lacks a touchscreen display – but at 6000 yen ($51 dollars US), it’s hard to beat the low price for this add-on device.
If you MUST have this device here in the US, you can purchase it from Play-Asia for $59.90 which includes $8.80 for shopping.
Oh yes, one more thing – game developers are beginning to make use of the GPS receiver in their own game titles!
