Now that Microsoft Windows Vista is finally out (at least for businesses), PC World decided to run an article detailing “The 10 Greatest Operating System Upgrades Ever”. I’m not sure I’d agree with all of the listed OS’s but they’re worth a read.. if anything to take a trip down memory lane. A quick summary of the OS upgrades are as follows:

1. Apple DOS 3.1
2. Apparat NewDOS/80 2.0
3. Microsoft MS-DOS 2.0
4. Apple Macintosh System 7
5. Microsoft Windows for Workgroups 3.11
6. Linux 0.99
7. Microsoft Windows 95
8. Microsoft Windows 2000
9. Mac OS X 10.0
10. Lindows OS 1.0

Don’t jeer or snicker too much ( I did when I saw Lindows and Apparat NewDOS). Anyways, it’s an interesting list and sure to get a few fiery conversations going!
