Ok.. is this one of the funkier looking USB/FireWire hubs out there or what? It’s called the LaCie Huby and it comes with 4 USB 2.0 ports and 2 FireWire 400 ports. The Huby also comes with 8 flexible cables, 8 colorful LEDs, a USB light, and a USB fan. The cables (which look more like tentacles) reach out from a central bulb shaped device and are flexible and twistable. I swear this thing looks like something from War of the Worlds!

LaCie asked famous French designer, Ora-Ïto, to come up with the design of the Huby.. and boy, did he do an incredible job. This is one USB/FireWire hub I’d put front and center on my desk. The LaCie Huby can be preordered now for $79.99 and will be shipping in late December 2006.
