Nintendo on track with sales – selling every Wii they make
Earlier this week, Nintendo announced that they sold around 600,000 Wii consoles during the first 8 days of the consoles’ availability. The total amount of Wii related revenue including consoles, games, and accessories has already hit 190 million dollars. Not too shabby for a console that’s known to be graphically worse than the Xbox 360 or the much more expensive PlayStation 3. It also goes to show how important content really is for games.. if the games and the console are fun.. then the graphics often take second seat.
Nintendo also announced that they are on track to sell 4 million units of it’s Wii game console by the end of the year. Of course, they could sell more than 4 million units but that entirely depends on the manufacturing constraints for the console. However, despite possible manufacturing constraints, Nintendo expects to sell every Wii that they make this year. Not too shabby!
On the other hand.. Nintendo better be making loads of money from this console if the stories of Wii related injuries and accidents are indeed true. Consider the possibility of stupid lawsuits from people who didn’t know better when it came to using the Wii controllers.
