Transcend Information Inc. has announced their first stainless steel bodied USB flash drive called the JetFlash 180. Not only does it have a nice stainless steel chassis, it’s also fingerprint resistant to boot! Very sweet eh?

The JetFlash 180 utilizes Hi-Speed SLC NAND type flash memory which performs at 10-12MB/sec for read speeds and 8MB/sec for write speeds.

You can also use the new JetFlash 180 to increase performance on a Windows Vista machine using Windows ReadyBoost. ReadyBoost is one of the new features of Windows Vista which increases overall system performance when a flash drive or card is connected to the system. To use Windows ReadyBoost, a computer must have Windows Vista and have access to at least 512MB of non-volatile flash memory - although Microsoft actually recommends 1GB of memory if possible.  You can read more about ReadyBoost here.

Windows® ReadyBoost™ technology

When the USB pen drive or flash card is removed from the computer, the system will automatically go back to its original settings.
