PC Stats has published a review of the MSI mPC 945 Barebones Small Form Factor PC here on their website. As the name implies, the mPC 945 utilizes the Intel 945G chipset and comes with support for Intel Pentium D, Pentium 4, and Celeron D processors.

OK.. I have to be honest here (and perhaps MSI will never ever send me equipment to review as a result!) – this is one UGLY Small Form Factor case. The front facade shows 9 white squares.. ugh.. BORING!! ok – I’ll stop venting now.

Other features of the mPC 945 include:

  • Supports 2 Dual-channel DDRII 667/553 Memory
  • Integrated Intel GMA 950 Graphics
  • 8-channel HD Audio
  • 7-in-1 Card Reader
  • 802.11b/g Wireless LAN
  • Toolless Design for Easy Installation

Here’s the ultimate verdict from PC Stats:

The MSI MEGA mPC 945 definitely looks different from your average SFF PC. Thanks to this fresh approach we can see a whole host of possibilities for this system when married with a suitably competent videocard (preferably supporting HDMI or component output), and connected over the Gigabit ethernet or 802.11g wireless LAN… If you’re looking for something simple and nice to look at, MSI really has come up with a solution worth your consideration.

Apparently they liked it!!
