Are you looking for some external speakers designed specifically for the Zune? Check out the new Altec Lansing M604 Powered Audio System. It’s similar to the M602 except it has a built in dock for the Zune whereas the M602 has a built in dock for the iPod. Specs on the M604 include:

  • High definition audio
  • Clean crisp sound from four specially engineered full range neodymium spekaers
  • XdB bass enhancement technology creates deep bass without a subwoofer
  • Wireless remote control and built in controls such as play, forward, back, volume, bass, treble, and stand by
  • Built in universal dock – transfers music and recharges the Zune
  • Wall mountable design
  • Composite video output for Zune video
  • Universal MP3 cradle for other MP3 players out there
  • Headphone jack for private listening

CNET’s Crave blog previewed the unit and had this say on their site:

first, the brown Zune, which I personally find rather ugly anyway, looks a bit incongruous plugged into the M604, as the speaker is black with silver accents. Also, cursory testing reveals that the speakers sound very good–as well they should for 200 smackers. Stay tuned for a more in-depth review.
