TechDigest has published a story claiming that the rumored Apple mobile phone (for now called the iPhone – though no one really knows the true name of the product) will use a stripped down version of OS X as its’ core OS.

Could this rumor be true? Sure of course it could be true. Apple could very well take the core OS and make it usable on a small platform such as a mobile phone. Of course – it could also take whatever it uses for the Apple iPod and extend it for use on the rumored phone. My only main complaint about this article from TechDigest is the lack of any other proof. It’s a standalone article which yes – I am also forwarding onto you guys – mostly because I think people need to either confirm it or debunk it.

So, what do you folks think?
