A little while back, we mentioned that the eStarling digital frames were back on ThinkGeek.com – this time offering a slew of new features including wireless support and automatic update of pictures via RSS feeds from popular photo websites.

Well – eStarling Inc. has officially announced this new digital frame and provided additional information on features of this frame.

As you know, the eStarling digital frame can connect to a wireless 802.11 network. You can send pictures to your eStarling frame simply by emailing your pictures to the frame.

What I didn’t realize was this - an eStarling digital frame can also send images to another eStarling digital frame. Yup – that means you can send pictures of your loved ones to someone else no matter where they are around the world – as long as they have an Internet connection of course

eStarling frames can also receive photo RSS feeds from popular websites such as Flickr, Picassa and Webshots – made possible through eStarling Connect. There’s also a built in MMC/SD/CF/MS card slot.

The frame has the following specs:

  • 7 inch color LCD screen
  • hardware image processor
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g with support for WEP
  • MMC/SD/CF/MS card slot
  • 128MB of storage soace

eStarling Launches First Wi-Fi Digital Photo Frame That Can be Automatically Updated from Photo Websites via RSS Feeds

Device Operates Independently of a PC; Dedicated Email Address Allows Users to Email Photos Directly to Frame

MCLEAN, Va. –(Business Wire)– Nov. 20, 2006 This year, eStarling, Inc. (http://www.estarling.com) is offering the perfect holiday gift to help you stay better connected to your loved ones. The company announced today the availability of eStarling, the first wireless digital photo frame that enables users to automatically update pictures via RSS feeds from several popular photo websites.

eStarling is a wireless networked home media appliance that operates independently of a personal computer; it enables the users to share photos directly with friends, family, or colleagues. You can purchase for delivery during the 2006 December holiday season at http://www.estarling.com.

The eStarling digital frame makes it much easier to share updated photos with loved ones. Users can send photos over the Internet to an eStarling frame via email or camera phones; they can also use an eStarling to send photos to be shared with the owner of another eStarling frame.

For instance, today, parents must hook up cables to a camera and download photos onto a personal computer to post them on a Website or email them to grandparents, who then must get them printed and framed in order to show their grandchildren off to their friends.

No longer. Thanks to eStarling, a busy parent can plug the memory card from their camera directly into the card-reading slot on the eStarling digital frame. They can then simply push a button to send the latest photos of the children directly to the grandparent’s eStarling frame located across the city or across the world.

Through eStarling Connect, our free photo management site, users can also sign on to receive photo RSS feeds from popular photo sites such as Yahoo Flickr, Google Picassa and Webshots.

“Since its trial launch in early 2006, we have been receiving daily requests for eStarling from consumers, indicating strong market demand for this Wi-Fi digital photo frame,” said Jeff Luo, founder and CEO of eStarling, Inc. “The future for us looks even more promising as we see our product setting a unique trend, whereby users extend their social networking experience on PCs to a comfortable environment, such as their home or office.”
