Man is attacked and robbed of PS3 consoles
Here’s yet another sad PlayStation 3 story. This time it’s about a man who was attacked and robbed in La Palma, CA, after trying to sell two new PlayStation 3 consoles. The man (who was not named by the Police) had advertised the consoles on Craigslist and was trying to sell the consoles for a combined price of $5000.
Two men answered the online offer and told the seller to meet them at a McDonalds restaurant located at Moody Street and Orangethorpe Avenue in La Palma CA at 1am. When the seller got there from Koreatown LA, he was attacked with pepper spray and robbed of his two PS3 consoles as well as a number of games. The suspects have been described as men in their 20’s but unfortunately not much else has been given.
OK.. let’s get the obvious out of the way – the guy was a bit foolish for agreeing to meet two strangers in the middle of an unfamiliar city at 1 am in the morning. At least go there with a few more people man! At the same time, I do feel somewhat bad for the guy – he was only there to make a little bit of money (ok.. maybe not a little). Let’s face it – most of the first time buyers of PS3’s went ahead and sold them on eBay for a pretty penny so this guy was also trying to do the same. Unfortunately he went about the wrong way instead of selling it say on eBay.
So let this be a lesson to many of you out there considering meeting someone at 1am someplace. Don’t!
