HotHardware has posted a review of the MSI mPC 51PV small form factor PC here on their website. This box is yet another cube shaped SFF system that Shuttle popularized many years ago.  I really got into the whole SFF craze a few years back but I’ve since gone back to towers and mid-tower PC designs for my home. However, SFF systems are still extremely popular and it’s nice to see companies continuing to develop this form factor.

The MSI mPC 51PV is designed for AMD Athlon 64 X2, Athlon 64, and Sempron processors and features the following specs:

  • NVIDIA® C51PV (GeForce 6150) and MCP51 (nForce 430) chipset
  • Supports 2 Dual-channel DDRII 800/667/533 Memory (2GB Max.)
  • On-board Graphics of NVIDIA® GeForce 6150
  • 8-channel HD Audio
  • 7-in-1 Card Reader
  • 802.11b/g Wireless LAN
  • Toolless Design for Easy Installation

Having that integrated wireless feature is nice – especially if you want to place the machine in a location where wires have a hard time reaching. So what does HotHardware think? Here’s the verdict:

Based on its complete feature-set, ease of assembly, performance and competitive price, we’re giving the MSI mPC 51PV a solid 8.5 on the Heat Meter.
