SOYO introduces GoVideo dual monitors but.. is it worth the cost?
SOYO Group has announced a new dual monitor lineup called the GoVideo dual LCD monitor line. The new lineup currently features dual 17 inch monitors and dual 19 inch monitors. They’ll be available under both the SOYO brand name as well as the GoVideo brand name (just to make things a bit more confusing for all of us)
As the name implies, the GoVideo Dual LCD monitor is basically two LCD monitors slapped together on a single stand offering a combined resolution of 2560 x 1024. Other specs include 300 nits of brightness, 8 ms response times, 16.7 million colors, and integrated GoVideo stereo speakers.
Dual monitor setups are awesome – I run one at home although not connected to the same stand of course. If you know you’re going to hook up two LCD monitors, this isn’t a bad route to go .. unless of course one display goes bad and you end up having to replace both at the same time. Oh yes.. there’s also the price which we’ll get to now.
The 19 inch model is the GVLM1920 and can be found here on their website. The price for the 19 inch model is $1199.
The 17 inch model is the GVLM1728 and can be found here. The price for the 17 inch model is $999.
One thought to SOYO – you might want to consider lowering those prices considering you can get a single 17 inch LCD for less than 200 today… making dual 17 inch monitors WELL below 500 bucks for the average consumer. Yes.. you do get little extras with the SOYO but come on.. 100 bucks for a dual 17 inch monitor setup? Hmmm…
