Hello,
Do you know if it's possible to sync files to a storage card? I have more files than the internal memory can accommodate, but they'd fit on my storage card. I can't figure out how to do this, which would, seemingly, be pretty straightforward?

Thanks,
Fritz

My problem is syncing my PC's Outlook contacts in Contacts sub-folder. Sync works OK but on earlier betas of WMDC there was a sync settings option which let you select which contacts folder to sync with a PDA. This is missing from the general release. (I have v6.0.6783) so I only get my top level contacts synchronised.

Hi Michael,
Thanks for visiting the site. Microsoft updated Windows Mobile Device Center when Vista was officially rolled out to the consumer market at the end of January. Thus beta 3 is no longer valid - however, I've just recently installed Vista Business on a new laptop of mine so I remember what I did with that.

Basically assuming your Windows Vista is fully installed OR it came with your system, make sure you have Windows Mobile Device Center installed. I would run Windows Update and see if it's part of one of the updates that you can download. Assuming you have already done this, you need to then connect your iPAQ to your PC via the USB connection and you might want to run Windows Update again. Normally at this point, you should be golden (assuming WMDC is already installed). Vista may need additional drivers but it SHOULD automatically grab them for your iPAQ. Considering the iPAQ is so extremely popular, I would assume Microsoft has a driver for the PDA. But remember - you need to have WMDC installed first and foremost. Hope this helps?

AAARGGG!!!

Just upgraded to Vista, and I am amazed at how all my apps and devices have actually picked right up with the new OS and got to work!

However, my Samsung i730 (Phone/Pocket PC) no longer sync’s to the storage card?! I previously used XP Home, Active Sync 4.5, and the sync method offered through Media Player 11.

Works great due to being able to sync playlists, music, etc. from Media Player to either internal mem, or storage card.

When getting started with the new Mobile Device Center, my storage card no longer shows up in the devices, and I of course can no longer sync to the card.

Anyone else come accross this?

Nice post. I am going to buy a T-mobile MDA because I want to synch my schedule through the air! is it possible? I read that I have to have the Exchange server, is it right?
