Hardcore Nintendo lovers will love this – Nintendo plans on holding two launch parties to commemorate the launching of the Nintendo Wii. One party will take place in New York City at Toys “R” Us Times Square while the other party will take place at GameStop in Universal CityWalk in Los Angeles. The launch events will take place the night of the Nintendo Wii launch which is Saturday night November 18th into Sunday morning November 19th. The events will feature live music and entertainment, fun, games, special guests from Nintendo, as well as a countdown to the actual launch of the console.

If you’re dying to get the game console, this will probably be the best time to get the console – especially if you live in NYC or in LA.

In other news, Nintendo announced that it plans to have approximately four million Wii’s available globally from the launch date to the end of 2006. Despite this large number, you will still probably experience sold out shops so make sure you get one early before Christmas gets really close.
