Engadget got some play time in with the upcoming Microsoft Zune and posted a slew of pictures showcasing the player, a Zune Case, and the Zune marketplace software package.

If there’s one thing that I already like about the Zune – it’s the matte like finish and it’s ability to repel fingerprints. That scores a lot in my book.. ( I never was much of a fan of glossy designs anyhow).

Anyhow, drop by Engadget and check out their full lineup of pictures why don’t you.

Meanwhile at Gizmodo…

After posting their initial hands on pictures, Gizmodo has posted their full review of the Zune here on their website. They’ve also included a video clip of the Zune Marketplace for those of you curious how it all works.

Here’s the early verdict from Gizmodo:

Overall, this seems pretty promising. I can’t find any mis-steps or anything where I have to ask “wait, this is dumb, why did you do this?” in both the player and the software. The Zune itself is very sexy, and feels nice to the touch—not too heavy.
