Belkin named "iPod Accessory Maker of the Year" by iLounge
The folks at iLounge have named Belkin as the “iPod Accessory Maker of the Year” winner. I suppose persistence has finally paid off for Belkin eh? They’ve always been a maker of iPod gear but they’ve really taken it to a new level this year. Then again – there are a boat load of Apple iPod variants as well as users out there.
Some of the more recent products released by Belkin for the Apple iPod include the TuneDeck for iPod nano, the SportCommand wireless fabric remote, and the TuneTalk Stereo for the iPod.
The award was given as part of iLounge’s 2007 iPod Buyer’s Guide which can be found here.
Congrats to Belkin!

Belkin Named iPod(R) Accessory Maker of the Year by iLounge
Recognized for Innovation, Design, and Service, Belkin Wins Top Honors in iLounge’s Best-of-the-Year Awards
COMPTON, Calif. –(Business Wire)– Nov. 1, 2006 Belkin Corporation has been honored with iLounge’s coveted “iPod Accessory Maker of the Year” Award.
With a diverse iPod accessory offering, ranging from FM transmitters to Bluetooth(TM) receivers to cases, Belkin is proud of its dedication to understanding how iPod fans use their iPod devices in a wide array of environments — in the car, at home, and on the go.
Every year, iLounge, the world’s leading resource for iPod and iTunes(R) information, publishes its annual holiday buyers’ guide for iPod devices and accessories. This year’s third-annual guide is titled the 2007 iPod Buyers’ Guide, and features ratings of more than 1,100 products by over 300 iPod accessory vendors. A dedicated “Best Accessories of the Year” section highlights only the very best products for iLounge readers, and includes awards for top entries in roughly 20 different categories.

Quotes
Gavin Downey, Director of Product Management – Mobility for Belkin:
“Our products are extensions of our passions. SportCommand(TM) was developed by avid snowboarders; TuneTalk(TM) Stereo by people in garage bands; and TuneDeck(TM) by drivers who do not like wires. What we make is a reflection of what’s possible when end users create products. It is exciting to love what you do.”
Jeremy Horwitz, Editor-in-Chief at iLounge:
“Rather than merely rerelease its old products in slightly new shells, Belkin stepped up and created newer, better accessories — the impressive TuneFM(TM) and TuneBase(TM) FM transmitters and chargers, the TuneTalk Stereo recorder, the TuneDeck cassette adapter for iPod nano, and the SportCommand wireless sports remote control, to name a few. In most cases, its new releases have been best-of-class or close in design, features, or pricing; even partially realized accessories, such as its TuneCommand(TM) AV remote control and docking station, showed a commitment to thinking about what iPod users really want. Beyond the basics, we’ve also been extremely impressed by the company’s follow-through: it goes out of its way to be forthright with customers regarding product performance and compatibility.”
