Microsoft has announced all new packaging for the upcoming Microsoft Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 Productivity Suite. Let the world rejoice! (Can you sense the sarcasm?) OK. All kidding aside, the new look is kinda nice although I must admit, it reminds me of a plastic book more than anything else.

According to the Windows Vista Blog, the new packaging is designed to protect the software for long life (given how long it takes for new Windows versions to come out these days, that’s probably not a bad idea!). Microsoft also plans on releasing this new package design to their other software products. Joy joy.
