The first set of Core 2 Duo MacBook Pros have begun arriving on people’s doorsteps and some of the early news have been interesting thus far. Probably the most interesting newsworthy item is that the new MacBook Pro’s seem to include the Atheros AR5008 802.11n chipset which means these notebooks support an early draft version of the 802.11n spec. This is interesting mostly because it further fuels the speculation that Apple will move to the 802.11n spec – especially when the new iTV device launches next year.

Check out MacRumors for additional information on this as well as some early benchmarks from folks who have received their Core 2 Duo MacBook Pros.
