SlashPhone.com has posted a review of the new Nokia E62 smartphone here on their website. The E62 is currently only available here in the US through Cingular Wireless. PC Mag had a preview of this phone way back in August but now SlashPhone has published an official review of the phone. Features of this smartphone include:

  • Quad band world phone support
  • 320 x 240 color display
  • QWERTY keyboard
  • 5.5 hour talk time
  • 14 day standby time
  • IrDA and USB compatibility
  • Weight of 5.1 oz
  • Measures 4.6 x 2.8 x 0.7 inches
  • Email, Contacts, Schedule support
  • Multiple personal and corporate email options
  • Video player and music player
  • Bluetooth wireless support
  • Speakerphone and voice recorder
  • Outlook synchronization

One of the key differences with the E62 to many of the current smartphones on the market is the usage of the Symbian OS instead of either Windows Mobile or Palm OS. How does it fare overall? Well here’s the verdict (note - the review is actually short – most of it is pictures)

Though still not the ultimate combo of media, internet and productivity support, the E62 is a powerful contender even up against Blackberrys at double the price.
