Core 2 Duo finally comes to MacBook Pro
As expected, Apple upgraded their MacBook Pro lineup with new Intel Core 2 Duo processors. Surprisingly, Apple did not choose to update the MacBook line of notebooks – keeping those systems with the Intel Core Duo processor.
The new MacBook Pro 15 and 17 inch notebooks will come with either the 2.16GHz Core 2 Duo or the 2.33 GHz Core 2 Duo. Finally, Apple notebooks will feature processors just as fast as Windows notebooks. You’ll be able to add up to three GB of memory within these MacBook Pro systems.

Prices start at $2799 for the 17 inch model and $2499 for the 15 inch model with the high end T7600 processor. The 15 inch model with the Intel Core 2 Duo T7400 processor starts at $1999.
