Samsung quietly releases two new Q1 ultramobile PC versions
According to PCWorld.com, Samsung has quietly released two new versions of its ultramobile PC product – the Q1. One version has a faster Intel processor inside while the other version swaps the Intel processor for a Via processor.
The two new models are the Samsung Q1-Pentium and the Samsung Q1b.
The Q1-Pentium employs an Intel Pentium M 723 processor running at 1GHz. The Q1b has a VIA C7 1GHz processor inside. The original Q1 UMPC used a Celeon M processor clocked at 900MHz.
The Samsung Q1-Pentium (NP-Q1-V002) has the following specs (and can be found at Newegg.com):
- Intel Pentium M 723
- Intel 915GMS chipset
- 7 inch touchscreen widescreen display with 800 x 480 resolution
- Intel GMA 900 graphics
- 60GB HDD
- 1GB DDR2 533 MHz memory
- 802.11b/g wireless
- Bluetooth
- 1 Type II CF card
- 3 hour battery life
- Measures 9″ x 5.5″ x 1″ and weighs 1.7lbs
The Samsung Q1b (NP-Q1BV000) features:
- Via C7 ULV 1 GHz processor
- VX7000 Integrated chipset/graphics
- 512MB DDR2 memory
- 7 inch touchscreen widescreen display with 800 x 480 resolution
- 40GB HDD
- 802.11b/g and Bluetooth support
Newegg is selling the Q1 Pentium for around $1200 while the Q1b is going for $899.
