eStarling digital frames are back
I have this funny feeling that digital photo frames are poised to make a strong showing this holiday season. Case in point – the eStarling LCD frame is back over at ThinkGeek.com. This time, the eStarling LCD frame comes with a 7 inch screen and a slew of new features. It’s got built in wireless support with WEP encryption support.
Why does it need WiFi you might ask? Well the eStarling frame is capable of connecting to a standard POP3 email account. From there, the frame will check the email account for new incoming email which may hold digital photographs as attachments. It then downloads the pictures to its local storage (which is capable of holding 30 images) and plays it back in a slideshow format. You can also configure the frame to only look for email from a certain email address – to prevent reading spam from unwanted sources.
The eStarling frame also supports Flckr based RSS photo feeds – in fact it’ll support multiple feeds. You can then download pictures straight from Flckr to be displayed on your frame. Very cool.
There’s also a MMC/SD card slot so you’ll be able to add pictures to the frame directly without the network connection.
The eStarling frame is currently selling for $249.99 but it’s out of stock at ThinkGeek. New units are due on 12/10.
