Toshiba continued their launch of Core 2 Duo enabled notebooks with the introduction of the new Satellite M115-S3144 notebook. This is the first Satellite notebook featuring the Inew dual core Intel processor as well as the new Onyx blue metallic color. Features of the M115-S3144 include:

IRVINE, Calif. –(Business Wire)– Oct. 10, 2006 Toshiba’s Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today announced the Satellite(R) M115-S3144, Toshiba’s first 14.1-inch diagonal widescreen display notebook PC featuring the Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor and a new Onyx Blue Metallic color, offering consumers power and style in a ‘thin and light’ form factor.
Weighing a little over five pounds(1) and designed for mobile multimedia entertainment, the Satellite M115-S3144 incorporates the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor(2) T5200 (1.60GHz, 2MB L2, 533MHz FSB). Based on the new Intel Core Microarchitecture, the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor is designed to handle multiple tasks in less time while consuming less power and reducing fan noise and heat.
Featuring an Onyx Blue Metallic high-gloss lid as well as high-gloss silver palm rest inside, the Satellite M115-S3144 includes 2048MB DDR2 SDRAM dual-channel memory(3) for enhanced performance of games and music, picture and video multimedia files, and 120GB serial-ATA hard disk drive(4). The system has an estimated single unit price (ESUP) of $1,249(5).

– high-capacity 5,400rpm serial-ATA (SATA) hard drives(4) for faster access to stored files;
– SRS TruSurround XT(TM) technology for a rich audio experience;
– built-in harman/kardon(R) stereo speakers;

– DDR2 533 MHz SDRAM memory(3) for better performance of productivity applications and music, picture and video multimedia files;
– four USB 2.0 ports for connectivity of accessories and peripherals;

The Satellite M115 series notebooks come with a standard one-year limited warranty(6). The standard limited warranty includes carry-in support at Authorized Service Providers throughout the country, or the customer may utilize any of the more than 3,000 UPS Stores for packaging and delivery of the product to a centralized depot for prompt service. Customers can also choose to upgrade their notebook’s service plans for up to four years of extended service.
