This doesn’t come as a surprise but one can expect shortages of Playstation 3 consoles when it launches on November 17th of this year. GameStop and EBGames both began taking in-store limited pre-orders this morning with $100 dollar deposits. However, per-store allotments for pre-orders are tiny at 8 units per store with some stores getting at most 16 units. Each retailer’s in-store program is limited to one per household. The online pre-order system will be announced at a later date.

NOTE – We just checked GameStop and it appears that the in-store pre-orders have already ended. However you can go to GameStop and sign up for email alerts for the upcoming online pre-order.
