Razer Barracuda HP-1 Headphones Review
ExtremeTech has posted up a review of the new Razer Barracuda HP-1 Headphones designed for gamers out there. The claim to fame for the HP-1 is the use of 99% oxygen free copper cabling which translates to audio signal purity according to Razer. Other features include:
- 8 discrete drivers – 6 for mid high frequency and 2 for bass
- Individual channel volume control – 1 master volume control
- Detachable microphone
- 6 channel analog inputs
- Eight amplifiers contained within its volume control units
- Output power of 330 mW
- Razer HD-DAI interface (High Definition-Dedicated Audio Interface)
- Frequency Response of 1.5 Hz – 20000 Hz
The headphones retail for $129.99 but is it worth the price? Here’s ExtremeTech’s verdict:
Virtualized 5.1 from a good sound card with stereo headphones delivers a better surround effect, and you’ll get better audio quality with a $130 pair of stereo cans.
