Just received my HP USB TV Tuner. Plugged in, thought the setup went OK.
(I have Win7) Hooked up to Comcast cable. Went though digital setup channels, most of them appear. Then went through regular cable setup, nothing is available. How do I set it up properly to get all the cable channels that I get on my TV.....have no box on the TV...straight connect to cable.
Can I delete Media Center and start all over....would that help ?
Thanks so much !
Zork

Hi all.
When I am setting up the TV tuner, I so not get an option for "Automatic TV Signal Detection". It skips that option and decides to use "TV Source: Antennae". However, I am using Cable, and therefore receive no services when it tries to scan for antennae.

Is there a way to manually set the selection to Cable? Either through menus or via Regedit? (I am pretty confident using Regedit as I have since Windows 95)

Thanks in advance for the help.

HELLO!!!

Windows Media Center will not acknowledge my IR receiver. I have to use my digital cable box to get a signal on my tuner card. How do I get WMC to recognize that the IR receiver is, in fact, plugged in to my USB port. WMC worked great before my cable company allowed an analog signal to my computer. Ever since I introduced the digital cable box(soley for the purpose of converting analog to digital) to the configuration it has been a massive headache. I am able to get a perfect signal/reception that I can see in the small WMC setup box. As soon as I switch over to the program guide and select any channel I am unable to view TV through WMC. I went out of my way to purchase a Microsoft Vista WMC remote and IR receiver and it hasn't helped. If you could offer any assistance it would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I have been struggling with Media Center since we got our new HP m8330F PC with a tuner card pre-intalled. The firt 2 times I had to unintall my ViXS Real Tuner 48b0 card from device manager in order to see the card. On top of that I had to re-install my system per HP instructions, fortunately nothing was on the machine as it is new. I cannot seem to get the MC to recognize the signal after over 10 hours of HP/MS tech support!!!!! Is there a MC guide or help book that may answer these questions? I have the Visat for Dummies but it barely scratches the MC subject,,,, Oh woe is me

[...] Our siste site - Krunker.com - has posted up an article detailing how to install Windows Media Center under Vista RC1. There’s plenty of screenshots for you to drool over. They’ll be looking into MCE in a later article so this is more about how to set up MCE (which is definitely a fairly easy to do). I just love the way Media Center looks under Windows Vista - don’t you?
