TrustedReviews.com has posted up a review of the D-Link DSM-G600 Wireless Network Storage Enclosure here on their website. So you’re thinking – what’s so cool about this device? I mean it’s a wireless router with some network storage capabilities right? Well yes sorta. It is indeed a wireless router but notice the name of the box. It says ”Network Storage Enclosure” at the end of the model number. Why enclosure? Well it’s because the unit doesn’t actually come with a hard drive inside. You’re basically purchasing a wireless  router that’s capable of housing a hard drive inside. The nice thing here is - you’re not locked in to a certain sized hard drive. Buy the box and buy the hard drive separately according to your needs. Best thing of all? If you need more space, you can connect up to two more USB 2.0 hard drives. SWEET.

Once the drives are installed, the DSM-G600 acts like a normal network attached storage device allowing you to store all of your files in a centralized location. There’s even a built in FTP server on the box .. nice. Curious about the verdict from TrustedReviews? So are we:

The DSM-G600 is a simple, low cost NAS appliance that at first glance looks good value. The wireless functions add an extra dimension to shared storage but the backup features are comparatively weak and in D-Link’s world not all IDE hard disks are equal.
