Yahoo Sports glitch for Cardinals vs. Padre’s opener in the NLDS
It’s playoff time in Major League Baseball which means I’ll be playing particularly close attention to baseball scores around the league. Today was game 1 of the division series for three of the four series (my New York Mets play those streaky Los Angeles Dodgers tomorrow afternoon at Shea) and so I was following up on scores at sports.yahoo.com/mlb. I noticed that the A’s had beaten the Twins and that the Cardinals were up on the Padres. But wait.. the score said 1-0 in favor of the Cards.. but I had also seen the score at CNNSI.com and they said it was 5-1. What gives? I click on the Yahoo sports link and I come across this boxscore for the Cards/Padre’s game.
Yes it says 1-0 … but notice the # of hits for both teams. Cards have 33 hits and the Padre’s have 11 hits. WHAT THE!?!??!?!
So I scroll down some more and man.. the entire play by play is royally screwed up. Here’s a snapshot of that:
Wow.. someone had some server issues today eh? It’s a good thing I looked at cnnsi also… and I found out that the Cards did indeed beat up on the Padres. Good… don’t want to worry about Jake Peavy and the Padres for the league championship series either!
