Problems with Series3 TiVo’s and Plasma displays
Looks like owners of both plasma displays and the new TiVo Series3 box may be having some problems with their IR remote. The S3 box ends up having poor IR reception from the remote control – causing up to 50 percent or more loss in IR transmissions. This scenario could happen if the TiVo S3 box is placed too close to the plasma display in question. It’s unclear if the problem is specific to certain models or just faulty hardware but there does appear to be a problem. Your best bet might be to move the box a bit further away from the display. Spend 800 dollars on the box and have poor IR reception with plasma displays. Just great.
