Original Star Trek to return to TV this week digitally remastered
Are you a fan of the original Star Trek series? Well you might be interested to hear that the original series is coming back to the television screen this week but with a new look. The entire 79 episode series has been digitally remastered to enhance the show’s 1960’s era visual effects with 21st century CGI.
All sorts of things have been touched up with the series. Models have been replaced with digital created images of the Enterprise, Klingon Bird of Preys and Romulan Warbirds. Space scenes have also been touched up to add a more updated and realistic look to it. Everything is being time for the 40th anniversary of the famed science fiction series.
All told, the new series is designed to look better than ever. Of course there’s bound to Star Trek purists who will probably hate the new look but it adds a new dimension to this series that in many ways needs an infusion of new ideas.
The first episode to come out will be Balance of Terror – episode 14 of season 1.
I’ve set my Windows Media to record the new series starting this Sunday night. Can’t wait!
