JBL and Harman Kardon come out with a slew of iPod peripherals
Yes there are a bunch of new Apple iPod products but let’s not forget what this means folks. Where there are new iPod products, there are new iPod related accessories too! Case in point – Harman Multimedia International which owns Harman Kardon and JBL. They announced a bunch of new products designed for the iPod. Let’s go over them briefly.
First there’s the Harman Kardon EP 700 series noise-isolating in-ear headphones which was designed with help from Etymotic Research. There are three models in the 700 line – the EP 710, the EP 720, and the EP 730. The EP 710 uses a moving coil driver design and will cost $99.95. Both the EP 720 and the EP 730 will use a balanced armature approach which is normally found in higher end headphones. The EP 730 also includes an inline volume control and a switch for Bass Boost or High Fidelity mode. The EP 720 will cost you $149.95 and the EP 730 will cost $ 199.95.
Over at JBL, we find a ton of new product announcements. First up is the new JBL 610 Bluetooth Headphones which will provide wireless stereo sound to any audio device with a Bluetooth adapter or of course is Bluetooth enabled.
Then there’s the JBL Spyro – a dome shaped 2.1 channel speaker system designed for a variety of mobile audio devices including laptops, MP3 players and DVD players. This is by far the most unique new product from JBL and will easily match a modern decor. The Spyro is expected to come out in October for a retail price of $99.95.
There’s the JBL Radial Micro which is a small version of the JBL Radial iPod speaker dock. The Radial Micro combines a funky circular design with an iPod speaker dock in a small unique design.
Continuing the Micro trend is the new JBL On Stage Micro which is also a smaller version of the JBL On Stage iPod speaker dock system.
Finally, there’s the JBL spot which is basically a 2.1 speaker system for those looking for speakers that well.. don’t look like traditional speakers.
