Just when I thought the new Apple iPod shuffle was small, iRiver introduces a new digital audio player that in many ways trumps the shuffle. The player is called the S10 and it’s tiny folks. You can wear it around your neck via a lanyard as pictured (though yes.. it doesn’t have a clip like the shuffle) and better yet – it has an OLED display!!! (which measures 1.5 inches! Beat that Apple!). Now I won’t bash Apple like the folks at Akihabara News did. Apple still rules when it comes to coming up with new designs and of course user interfaces but you really have to commend iRiver with the S10. It looks just soooo sweet. Ok.. so let’s look at some specs:

  • As we mentioned it’s got a 1.5 inch OLED screen
  • It measures 42 x 30 x 10.8 mm and weighs only 17.5 grams
  • Supports MP3, WMA, ASF, and OGG file formats
  • It’s got a built in FM tuner
  • 1GB and 2GB storage capacities
  • 8 hour battery life

About the only bad thing is that 8 hour battery life. COME ON iRIVER!! It’s a flash memory device so you should have plenty of power! Oh well.. can’t have it all huh?
