PC Magazine has posted up their review of the new Apple Mac Pro desktop system here on their website. I’ve been waiting for PC Magazine’s look into the system since well.. I love PC Mag.
For you Apple fans out there, you’ll be happy to hear that PC Mag gave the system their “Editor’s Choice” award. Yup.. how can you possibly go wrong with a system that comes with dual XEON Woodcrest processors each with dual cores? On top of that – just look at the price folks. For $2499 you get a dual, dual core XEON processors. Now that’s awesome. Of course prices start edging upwards quite a bit if you add in more features. How much more?Well for the PC Magazine review, they got a system which was priced in at $7578. Yup.. that’s quite a bit. I’d stick with the default $2499 system. So here’s the verdict from PC Magazine:
Mac-using professionals who’ve been holding their breath for 9 months can finally exhale. The new Intel Xeon-powered Apple Mac Pro is a worthy successor to the Power Mac G5 and its variants.
