Apple recalls 1.8 million laptop batteries
Good job Sony. Apple has announced a large recall of notebook batteries numbering approximately 1.8 million units. The affected notebooks are the iBook G4 and PowerBook G4 products sold between October 2003 and August 2006.
Apple decided to perform this voluntary recall after receiving nine reports of batteries overheating. If you suffer from such a problem, you should call 1-800-275-2273 or visit Apple’s website for further information.
The recall should not have a major financial impact on the company. The three computer models affected by this recall are the 12 inch iBook G4, the 12 inch PowerBook G4 and the 15 inch PowerBook G4.
