If you’ve ever been intimated in creating your own Linux based home theater PC (HTPC), then you might be better off purchasing a prebuilt system from someone like Monolith Media Center. These guys are now selling Celeron based systems that run Ubuntu Linux and MythTV (which has a Windows Media Center like user interface). The base level system gets you a Celeleron D 326 processor, 512MB of RAM, a single TV tuner, ATI XPRESS 200, Realtek ALC 655 audio, DVD-R drive, and a 200GB HDD. All this goes for $649.99 – not too shabby. Of course you could always purchase this box and then roll your own HTPC with some other OS and/or GUI.
