Intel releases Centrino driver patches
If you own a mobile device with Intel’s Centrino technology then you might want to check out the latest device driver updates. Intel has released a set of updated patches for flaws in their Centrino device drivers as well as their ProSet management software. These patches addresses issues in the following product lines:
- Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG
- Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG
- Intel PRO/Wireless 2100
- Intel PRO Wireless 3945ABG
The vulnerabilities within the drivers and the product line could allow attackers to break into a WiFi enabled PC and jump from one laptop to another via wireless connectivity. The only downside to the update is the size of the update – a whopping 129MB large which may seem daunting to some folks out there. Enjoy!
