A few weeks after releasing Windows Vista Beta 2 to developers for testing, Microsoft has now made the beta available for public download via the Customer Preview Program. When you sign up for the Customer Preview Program, you can obtain Vista Beta 2 as well as Release Candidate 1 when it comes out from Microsoft probably later this year. Keep in mind folks – Beta 2 is exactly that – it’s beta software. There are many things that still do not work properly so don’t make this OS your main machine’s OS. Once you sign up for the program, you can either download the ISO image of the OS directly from Microsoft or you can pay for a DVD to be shipped to you. If you’re wondering whether your current hardware is good enough for the OS, make sure to visit the Customer Preview Program page for additional information. Both the 32 bit and the 64 bit versions of Beta 2 will be available for download once you sign up for the program.
