Online Russian music website lets you download albums for a buck
One of the most popular online music websites out there right is not what you might think. In fact, the site isn’t even here in the US – it’s actually in Russia. The site is called allofmp3.com and it’s certainly pissing off a lot of music industry folks here in the US as well as causing a direct obstacle in Russia’s negotiations to join the World Trade Organization. So what’s up with the site you might ask? Well it sells whole albums for around one dollar and that means it’s selling music for about 1/10th the going rate here in the US. The music and trade industries are crying foul claiming copyright and legal infringments while the folks at the website are claiming that they are well within Russian copyright law to do this.
