LaptopMag posted a review of the HP Compaq Presario V5000Z here on their website. The V5000Z is a middle of the road notebook which uses the AMD Turion64 processor clocked at 2GHz. We have a couple of HP Compaq Presario laptops at my work place and I must say that they’re fairly impressive. Other specs on the V5000Z include:

  • 4200RPM 100GB HDD
  • Double Layer, DVD burner
  • 15.4 inch Widescreen display
  • ATI Radeon Xpress 200M
  • Wireless support
  • 6 in 1 media card reader
  • 6.6 lbs

The verdict:

For users who are torn between a powerful desktop replacement and an efficient thin-and-light, the V5000Z is a decent compromise. As long as you can live with less than three hours of battery life, you’ll be pleased with this value-priced portable.
