It’s official folks – the Sony PlayStation 3 is delayed until November
After a few days of reports coming from Japan, Sony has finally admitted that the PlayStation 3 will indeed be delayed until November of this year. So that’s the bad news.. the good news (is there really any for Sony at this point?) – the console will be released simulatenously in Japan, North America, and Europe. Ok Microsoft.. this is YOUR chance now to really push the Xbox 360. It’s time to get the content developers to release those cutting edges games to push the 360 even further.
The new PS3 will supposedly be available within the first 10 days of November and approximately 6 million units are expected to ship by March of 2007.
So why the holdup? Sony claims that there were still issues over the finalization of copy protection technology for the Blu-ray drive. One other interesting tidbit – the PS3 will feature a 60GB HDD with Linux preinstalled. Very interesting..
