There’s an interesting posting over at Rahul Sood’s blog (He’s the President and CTO of VoodooPC) which theorizes that Dell may be interested in purchasing Alienware. The arguments that he makes are certainly sound as Dell has been experiencing further slowdown in PC sales. In order to augment the slowing PC sales, Dell has been aggressively entering other markets including televisions, MP3 players, and printers. Could high end gaming systems from Alienware be the next target? Dell has been trying to capture some of this with their high end XPS line but it’s unclear whether it’s been successful.
