Maxtor OneTouch III Turbo Edition Review
I currently have two separate computer systems recording television shows everyday and I can’t help by find myself in need of hard drive space for all this data. Yes, I compress the resulting MPEG2 files into DivX file formats but even then, I need more space. The Maxtor OneTouch III Turbo Edition is starting to look like a very viable way of storing all this data on an external brick.. ok.. maybe not a brick but my goodness it’s large. PC Magazine reviews the OneTouch III Turbo here on their website. The product provides RAID 0 and RAID 1 capabilities and allows you to store up to a whopping 1TB of data. This system supports both FireWire 400 and 800 (although the new Mac systems don’t support FireWire 800) as well as USB 2.0 connectivity. Here is what PC Magazine thought of the brick.. err the OneTouch III Turbo Edition:
The Maxtor OneTouch III Turbo Edition’s compactness and copious amount of storage raises the bar for storage systems. Video editors, heavy downloaders, and any users needing large capacity should be happy with the 1TB it provides in a RAID 0 configuration. Set up as a RAID 1, the system still offers 500GB and can keep the data safe even if one internal drives fails.
