Overall, Westinghouse is the fourth top selling LCD TV brand in North America – behind Sharp, Sony, and Samsung.

Westinghouse 27- and 32-Inch LCD TVs Debut on Quixel Research’s U.S. Top Sellers List; Westinghouse Joins Magnavox and Sony in Q4 2005
SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif. –(Business Wire)– Feb. 28, 2006 Westinghouse Digital Electronics, one of the top five LCD TV companies in North America(1), had the top-selling LTV-32w1 and LTV-27w2 in the U.S. during Q4 2005, according to Quixel Research.
“Westinghouse Digital has made an impressive debut on our U.S. best sellers list, joining other top-tier brands such as Sony,” said Tamaryn Pratt, principal at Quixel Research. “LCD TVs are now being purchased in larger sizes and Westinghouse Digital is leading the way with two of the largest screen sizes on the best seller list.”
The two Westinghouse LCD TVs replaced Samsung’s 23- and 32-inch models on the best sellers list. The Westinghouse LTV-32w1 was the number four best-selling LCD TV by unit volume in the U.S. during Q4 2005, according to Quixel Research’s quarterly market report, and the Westinghouse LTV-27w2 LCD TV was the number five best-selling unit.
“Westinghouse continues to rank as a top seller in the 26-inch-plus LCD screen size category,” said Rey Roque, vice president of marketing for Westinghouse Digital Electronics. “This latest report from Quixel Research supports previously released market share data from NPD, iSuppli and DisplaySearch and further strengthens the Westinghouse position as a top-tier brand.”
In addition to Quixel Research’s report, according to the “NPD Market Share Reports by Category through October 2005,” Westinghouse Digital is the fourth top-selling LCD TV brand in North America among branded LCD TVs, behind Sharp, Sony and Samsung.
“Consumers are purchasing LCD displays in larger screen sizes such as 27- and 32-inches, and Westinghouse is leading the trend by offering 1080p full HD resolution, the highest resolution currently available, and input connections for all of the latest HD video sources, in a sleek form factor that adds a stylish touch to any decor,” Roque said. “Along with the current 37- and 42-inch models, as we introduce Westinghouse 47-inch and larger LCD displays this year, we will strive to maintain our best seller ranking.”
LCD TVs outsold plasma and microdisplay (RPTVs) in Q4 2005, according to Quixel Research’s quarterly market report. Total LCD TV units shipped from Q4 2004 to Q4 2005 increased 140 percent due to “more affordable prices, especially in the 27- and 32-inch sizes, and availability in a wider variety of channels,” Pratt said.
In addition to LCD TVs, Westinghouse Digital also offers HDTV/DVD combos, HD 1080p monitors, HD-Grade(TM) computer monitors and digital photo frames through consumer electronics retailers nationwide.
