Looking for an alternative HTPC user interface? Check out the review of SageTV Media Center Version 4.16 over at HTPCNews.com. This particular release finds added support for OTA HDTV and DVB-T transmissions. Another important thing to note - the beta version - 4.1.7 - includes placeshifting capabilities - a term popularized by Sling and the SlingBox. In any case, here’s the verdict for 4.16 from HTPCnews:

I can’t really come out of this review saying that Sage lives up to its Media Center name. Perhaps its a sign of things to come but right now they have some serious shortcomings that they need to address to become a full on Media Center. I do think that the shortcomings are easily addressed and I hope to see the Sage team do this for its next release.
