Looking to store tons of digital audio on a non-PC system? Check out the newly announced Onkyo BR-NX80. This mini-component shelf system comes with 80GB of storage space designed to store music from CD’s, MD’s, AM/FM radio, and music transferred from other sources. The base system doesn’t come with any speakers but Onkyo recommends the D-N8 bookshelf style speakers as the perfect complement to this system. The BR-NX80 has a rated output of 15Watts per channel (2 channels).
The Onkyo BR-NX80 also comes with a network connection which allows the box to obtain information from the Gracenote CDDB. The unit is able to record music into PCM, ATRAC3. ATRAC3plus, and MP3 file formats and can also play back music stored on networked computers. Other features include a 4.3 inch LCD screen, USB port, and a Memory Stick slot.
