The VAIO SZ Premium notebook (which this model is a part of) is one of the thinnest and lightest notebooks ever created by Sony. It measures only 0.9 inches thin and weighs a scant 3.7 lbs but still manages to squeeze in a 13.3 inch widescreen XBRITE LCD display. Something so thin and light has to be fragile right? Wrong! The SZ Premium notebook uses a carbon fiber case design. The chassis is made of multi-layered carbon fiber which is lighter and stronger than the typical magnesium alloy found on many notebooks today.

Other cool features on the Sony VAIO SZ Premium include Intel’s latest Core Duo processor running at 1.83GHz, Microsoft Windows XP Pro, 1GB of RAM, 100GB 5400 RPM HDD, and a 13.3 inch widescreen display. For gamers, the SZ Premium offers up a unique feature called the Hybrid Graphics system. The SZ Premium comes with two graphics cores – one found on the integrated chipset (an Intel based one) and one as an added GPU (an NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 model). Thus when you’re looking to save power, you use the integrated graphics. When you’re looking to blast your opponents away with the highest possible frame rates, you use the powerful graphics engine instead.
