HP rx1950 Navigator GPS bundle
HP is partnering with ViaMichelin to enter the GPS business with the new rx1950 Navigator GPS bundle. The kit is essentially the rx1950 PDA, a cradle for the PDA, and GPS software from ViaMichelin all rolled up into a single package. The GPS receiver actually resides in the cradle which means you slide the rx1950 into the cradle and the PDA directly interfaces with the GPS receiver using the bundled software. The software provides your normal points of interest (POI) and can also be upgraded using data from the ViaMichelin website. This kit is ideal for car owners since the GPS receiver is in the cradle but it isn’t ideal for those of you needing a GPS receiver for long hikes etc.

KiSS DP-600 High Definition Media Player
KiSS Technology announced last week a new addition to their media player lineup - the DP-600 High Definition Media Player. This is essentially their first release of a new generation of networked DVD/Media players with support for HD video. The DP-600 features support for a wide range of new technology many of which are still not yet available at this time. Some of the new features include Video on Demand and IP based Television programming which will be available down the road via firmware updates to the player.
What you can do with the DP-600 in the meantime is play virtually any file format that is out there including the following for video:
DVD, WMV 9, WMV 9 HD, MPEG1/2/4, DivX 3.11/4/5/HD, Nero Digital, XviD
The following are the file formats supported for audio:
Audio CD, WMA, WMA Pro, MP3, MPEG, MPEG2
There are a ton of other features available on the DP-600 including a user interface which provides access to KiSS’s Online Portal, access to an online Electronic Program Guide (although there is no Hard Drive in this model to record television shows but it does indicate where KiSS is going with all of this), web radio content, online weather, stock chart information, and finally online gaming.
The DP-600 is a 1080p capable media player and supports PAL, SECAM, and NTSC. The video output connections include: SCART, HDMI, Composite video, S-Video, and Component Video. Analog output connections include: Analog stereo, Optical audio, and Coaxial Audio.
There’s no pricing information on this player as of yet but stay tuned for more details!

Nokia 6270 Review
InfoSyncWorld has posted a review of the new Nokia 6270 slider phone here on their website. The 6270 features:
- 240 x 320 262k color display screen
- 2 megapixel digital camera
- Quad band GSM phone
- EDGE and GPRS support
- FM Radio
- WAP 2.0 Browser
- MP3 and polyphonic ring tones
- SMS/MMS Messages
- Bluetooth 2.0
- microSD card support
Here’s the verdict:
Offering a long-awaited improvement on Nokia’s user interface as well as an excellent screen and a very comfortable keypad, the 6270 fails to impress with regard to design. Furthermore, despite its strong focus on multimedia features such as a 2 Megapixel camera and a music player, the handset simply doesn’t deliver as compared to other recent multimedia phones - and as such comes recommended as a phone for users in search of a user-friendly interface and good battery life as opposed to powerful multimedia features.

The Slider Sonic is designed to attract the teenage audience by providing an array of multimedia functions including a digital music player, a VGA camera, and downloadable clips from MTV and Comedy Central. Does this phone work out in the end? Here’s the verdict:
With better sound quality and a lower price, the Sonic could be a serious contender for the music junkie looking for a simple phone that plays MP3s.
Guess you’d better wait till the next rev.
