Remember last year when Best Buy announced that they would be phasing out mail in rebates? Well they’ve begun the phasing out process with many sale products receiving instant rebates as opposed to mail in rebates. Mail in rebates became the best thing in the late 90′s and early 2000′s because companies banked on the fact that you would forget to mail in the rebate coupon.. and a lot of you did. However, an even greater number of you did fill out your rebates and still never received them in the mail causing more headaches than they were worth for companies like Best Buy. I applaud the decision by Best Buy to shift to instant savings – money is always worth more now than later.
